What Animals and Plants Live in the Chesapeake Bay This photograph shows a heron. Herons like the Great Bluish Heron stand about four feet tall and take a fly bridge of more than than 6 anxiety! Herons like to hunt in the shallow coves of Chesapeake Bay, specially in all of the tributaries that empty out into the Bay. The Bay provides pocket-sized fish, salamanders, frogs, snakes, lizards, shellfish, rodents and many insects for the herons to feast upon. These plants serve as
